questions

1)      How could blogging be used during summer to help students learn about subject matter when they are on such a long break?
2)      What are your opinions of using a blog over summer to help students become more engaged over their break?

  1. I think using a blog to keep students interested over an extended break is a great idea. It could be used as a summer work assignment and graded the following fall. I also think it would be an excellent opportunity to delve in to any number of topics that come up through the year that you may have had to table in order to stay on task and finish required curriculum. If you have issues with requiring students to do summer work it could be offered as extra credit or maybe even a credit in technology. Possibilities endless...
    Thanks for the article

  2. Dean,
I think one use of blogger or another blog site over the summer could be for responding to summer reading activities. Many districts require students to read over the summer; a blog could be a forum in which students could post ideas or responses to various questions.

  3. It is a great idea using blogging over the summer to keep students more engaged over the break. I like the idea of using it as a reading response journal and keep them stay in touch as a learning community. :-)
